Nepal is one of the prone area of risk from different types of natural calamities including Landslide in hills, Flood in Terai, Earthequake, Epidemic and Pandemic like COVID-19. The existing infrastructure and resources of the country is still not sufficient to support the victims on time. So, there is a severe need of support from all development agencies in these sector.
SOLVE is involved in following activities since many years in:
- Improved Cooking Stove campaign to save the fuel wood, which can control carbon and also contribute to make their houses clean. The programme was collaborated with Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Namsaling Community Development Committee (NCDC), and Centre for Rural Technology Nepal (CRT/N) to implement in different Rural Municipality (RM) of Dhankuta district.
- Awareness on Climate change issues in the support of GIZ, Germany under the technical assistance of BASUG (a diaspora organization based in Germany), implemented in Lalitpur district. The target group of the programme was the women cooperative members, so that they can plan in their cooperative accordingly. The training and short documentary on the base of geography was developed. Some of the RMs allocated their budget in this sector.
- SOLVE has completed 119 number of houses construction support to the victims of Earthquake of 25th. April 2015, of Lalitpur district. SOLVE completed this assignments in the support of LWF Nepal and Act-alliance Germany in 2016/17.
- SOLVE implemented socio economic development for the victims of Earthquake in 2018/19 in Lalitpur district. The project incorporated 3000 households to generate their income by developing Micro, Small and medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the support of CECI, Nepal through PUNARNIRMAN project.
